FAQ – Your Svendborg Vacation from A to Z

You can park your car several places in Svendborg. Some parking spaces are free for an unlimited time, while others are time-limited and subject to payment. Check out this map to see all public parking spaces.

There are regular ferry services connecting Svendborg with Ærø, Drejø, Skarø, Hjortø, and Valdemars Castle on Tåsinge. Click on the links below to check out timetables and ticket prices. It is possible to buy ferry tickets when boarding the ferries, but we recommend booking your tickets in advance.

Ærøfærgerne operates three routes to Ærø: Svendborg – Ærøskøbing, Søby – Fynshav, and Søby – Faaborg

M/F Højestene goes to Skarø and Drejø

M/S Helge goes to Valdemars Castle on Tåsinge and stops four other places along the way

Hjortøboen goes to Hjortø

At the tourist office in Svendborg, Havnepladsen 2. You can buy fishing licences valid for one day, one week, or a whole year.

Trains depart for Odense at half-hour intervals, with several stops along the way. The train station is located in the town centre, between the pedestrian zone and the harbour (Klosterplads 10, 5700 Svendborg).

Svendborg and the surrounding area are serviced by local buses. For information about the different bus lines, go to Fynbus’ website. The bus station is located right next to the train station.

Svendborg Cykeludlejning offers bike rental. They have bicycles for every need, including children’s bikes, e-bikes, mountain bikes, and touring bikes.

The post office is located inside the Føtex supermarket at Møllergade 92.

You can take the different island ferries from Svendborg all year round.

In summer, from July to mid-August, you can buy an island hopping ticket (Ø-hop) and go visit several islands in one day.

There are many scenic cycling routes around Svendborg and the South Fyn Archipelago. Booklets containing detailed route descriptions are available for purchase at the tourist office in Svendborg, where you can also pick up several free cycling maps (including The Archipelago Map).

Blue Rock Put & take

The Blue Rock lake is nice and deep, and the water is clean, so we guarantee that your catch will taste good! Fishing is easy here, and children are very welcome. There are several open spaces without trees in the back, so the lake is well-suited for fly-fishers as well.

As long as you have a fishing licence, you can go fishing anywhere along the coast and at sea. If you want to go fishing in streams and lakes, you need permission from the relevant landowner or a separate permit on top of the mandatory fishing licence.
